RE: Reporting out on the gun-related hypotheses

RESULTS AVAILABLE
At this point I have posted the results for most groups. The results use the class data from the beginning of the semester to "test" the hypotheses you have generated. Here is how I would like to proceed in following through on this project.

RESULTS REVIEW
Each group should take a look at their group results as soon as possible. You can get to these on the web by:

- going to my main page
- click on CJ 160
- scroll down to: Group work on survey: Gun example
- click on the colored bar at right
- scroll down to your group
- click on your group number
- your results should appear

WHAT I WILL BE EXPECTING FROM YOU
Starting on Thursday 4/6 I will be asking groups to "report out." What this means is, I will ask each group

  1. - to summarize their hypothesis

  2. - to summarize their rationale
  3. - to say what the results seem to be showing
  4. - to discuss how these reflect on their hypothesis
  5. - if things did not come out as expected, what other factors might be responsible?
  6. - if things did come out as expected, what further information would you need to better substantiate your rationale?
  7. - to field questions from the rest of the class for a minute or two

I will ask each group, after they have reported out, to fill out a sheet putting down their answers to 3-7.
PLEASE NOTE: If you are there when your group presents, and help fill out the "results and next step" sheet, you get another participation point.
I will probably be asking groups to go in RANDOM ORDER or something approximating that, so do not count on your group going later if it has a high group number.
This "reporting out" will probably be going on for at least a couple of weeks.
