RE: Extra credit options
You can earn up to three extra credit points by doing the following.
Find an article in a newspaper that uses or misuses statistic. It may or may not be relevant to criminal justice. I don't care. The article must be more or less current. If it has a graph or something, even better.
Write me ONE PAGE double spaced explaining how this article uses statistics. You need to INTEGRATE material from one or more of your readings.
For example, you might find a report of an opinion poll or a survey that mentions standard error or confidence intervals or sampling error.
EXPLAIN to me -- non technically or technically -- what you understand now, when you read this article, that you would not have understood before you took this class.
Attach the newspaper article.
Be sure you COMPLETELY REFERENCE the newspaper article. Be sure to completely reference the COURSE SOURCE.
