5/10/01 Well, it is time for grades to go in. So you will find them posted outside the CJ office. BUT - you will want to come see me at some point to talk about your grade if the last 6 digits of your ssn is any of the following:

Also, the sheet posted does not have a few "regrading" operations that were done, but these regrades did not affect any final outcomes.

5/9/01 161 GRADES - please do NOT call me or the TAs or come by to see us just to ask about grades. We are trying hard to get the grading done. As soon as the grades are finalized we will post an announcement on the web site. As of yesterday, we posted the RAW scores for the FINAL EXAM on the bulletin board outside of the department on the 5th floor of Gladfelter. We are not sure yet if we will be curving that, and if so how much.

4/11/01 - LAB 7 PAPER DUE DATE CHANGED - NEW DUE DATE 4/16/01 - BRING TO CLASS.

4/3/01 -quiz tomorrow - it is one last go at z tests for sample vs. pop. - memo to be posted late today - 9 pm or so - responding to some of your questions from class yesterday. LAB 5 DUE FRIDAY. YOU ALSO WANT TO BE PREPARED TO TAKE YOUR LAB 6 COMPETENCY TEST ON FRIDAY - IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO COMPLETE IT BEFORE THEN PLEASE PLAN TO STAY LATE AFTER LAB ON FRIDAY to complete the spss test. Lab 6s not completed by that date will have to be marked late

3/29 - on the revised schedule LAB PAPER 5 was due tomorrow, 3/30. That due date has been put back to NEXT FRI.. 4/6. The paper assignment is listed on the web site, and will be handed out tomorrow.

3/25 - contact page has been updated. I am unable to have more than one office hour regularly scheduled on Monday due to classes and meetings. As was started last week, I and TAs will be having our office hours in GH 107 so you can come by and do the competencies lab.

3/21 - You can expect a quiz today. From G&S, you want to know the basic things about probability theory we have covered, incl. the understanding of conditional probability. There also will be a couple of examples covering z scores. And a couple of definitions from the G&S reading, incl. p. 35. Tomorrow in class we also are going to finish the remaining ten minutes of DI, then start with hypothesis testing. You are gonna see how your attitudes compare to a national sample. We also are going to start talking about the next TWO labs, one of which is a competencies, and one of which involves an election corruption case here in Philadelphia.

3/19 - Movie lab 4 due Friday. Likely we will have a quiz on Wed. THe quiz will cover z scores, areas under the curve, and questions on basic probability and conditional probability. For probability, we will be focusing mostly on the portions of the readings covered in class.

ALSO: will have available in class today LAB 6, which is an spss competencies test.

ALSO: starting this week, we will be holding office hours in the lab in GH 107. Today (Monday), however, I will be unable to have office hours. But I will be there for my Wed. office hours.

ALSO: by late today probably will be posting grades to date including the last quiz before break and the lab before break (but not the extra credit for the lab).

3/12 Several important memos have been posted recently, including those describing assignments and deadlines between now and the end of the semester. You may want to read them
3/1 Lab 3 on Friday; turn in your results immediately and get 100% for the lab
