RE: Questions for Sampson et al ASR 99

In class on Thursday we will be discussing the 99 ASR article by Sampson et al. on Spatial Dynamics of Collective Efficacy of Children. Please write me no more than one page, doublespaced, with your SSN at the top, no name anywhere, an answer to the following:

Looking at Table 4, we see an impact of homeowner at the individual level, and an impact of residential stability at the group (neighborhood level). Focusing on just one of the three outcomes in this table, explain to me what are the individual level processes behind the Level 1 connection, and the ecological level processes behind the Level 2 connection. Be sure to make it clear how these impacts are independent (i.e., operating at different levels).
