RE: Current and upcoming matters INCLUDING FINAL EXAM PERIOD CONFUSION - SEE BELOW
11/22 in-class speaker. If you missed the 11/22 speaker, I encourage you to obtain class notes from one of your classmates. In addition, we will be reviewing certain features of her presentation in class tomorrow. There are some pamphlets available in my office about her program, Victims of Murder. Please stop by my office if you would like to pick one up.
Grades to date. Tomorrow I will be posting outside the department office grades to date in the course. Grades to date were first posted 11/10/00. I encouraged you then, and I re-encourage you now to check that listing and notify me promptly of any discrepancies you think may exist. It is your responsibility to let me know if you think something may be amiss. The listing I am posting should have in it the results of some of the regrading that was done as well as some recently completed Test 4s.
Test 4 curve. Folks did real well on Test 4. The average score was 82.12 percent and the standard deviation was 7.93 percent, so there is NO curve up for this test. The grade received is the percentage.
If you are not planning on taking Test 5 that's fine BUT: I would encourage you to continue to come to class because we will be having in-class discussions that will help you with the competencies assessment to be completed, and there will be continuing participation credits, AND there is a chance there may be an upcoming extra credit option, AND there is a chance that some in-class discussions may help you with preparing paper 3.
TEST 5 Since we may be crunched for class presentation time TEST 5 may be given ON 12/20 during the competencies assessment, rather than on 12/13 as planned.
